DOVEDALE
Famous for its stepping stones over the river, Dovedale is another iconic Peak District Walk, only a short drive from Monyash.
There’s more to Dovedale than the stepping stones with several other walks to enjoy. One option is to walk along the river towards Milldale, passing by Lover’s Leap and Reynard’s Cave. You can also climb to the top of Thorpe Cloud, where you can see great views of the surrounding valley.
CHROME HILL
Chrome Hill is 15-minute drive from the campsite, just over the border in Staffordshire.
Otherwise known as the dragons back, once a Limestone Reef that lay at the bottom of the sea millions of years ago.
If you’re eager for a challenge, climbing both Chrome Hill and the nearby Parkhouse Hill is a good option. This walk can be challenging, so it’s best undertaken for people with some hiking experience under their belt.

CHEE DALE
10 minutes north of the campsite is the lesser-known stepping-stone walk of Chee Dale. This pretty walk is an extension of the Monsal Trail toward the spa town of Buxton, and when water levels are now enough, it offers a stunning path along the river.

SOLOMONS TEMPLE (BUXTON)
A 15-minute drive away on the outskirts of Buxton is Solomon’s Temple at the top of Grin Low Hill. This is a perfect short, family-friendly walk that includes a woodland section leading to the old Victorian folly.
At the top, you’ll be able to see panoramic views of Buxton and the surrounding Peak District hills. For this Buxton walk, you can either go from the centre of town or park outside Go Ape for a shorter route.
